TASK
This task involves providing assistance to the Project Coordinator in identifying potential donors, developing new project proposals, reviewing existing ones and writing concept notes. Volunteers may not be requested to submit any funding request on behalf of our organization. The volunteer will also provide support to the Project Coordinator on strategic thinking and provide or share ideas on how to look/target for donors, foundations and humanitarian/development agencies.
The project Coordinator will work together with the volunteer on the development of this project.
EACO will be able to help the volunteer by providing guidance and necessary information about our activities. It in anticipated that this will occur over email, and via telephone and Skype.
It is expected that the volunteer will work in conjunction with EACO staff members on a long-term basis (a year).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In rural areas Lack of water and sanitation is already exposing to more dangers like battering, rape and poverty. But with the looming impacts expected due to climate change, these dangers are feared to double. Children and women draw their drinking water mainly from surface sources, such as ponds, rivers, and lakes. These same sources are used by cattle and other livestock, and other domestic uses. These water sources also serve as breeding grounds for bacteria and diseases.
OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of this project is the improvement of health and sanitation standards for entire communities.
The outcome of this a project is a strong partnerships formed with individuals and donors for sustainable support for EACO water and sanitation programmes.

REQUIREMENTS
Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or other related areas from a recognized University.
Should have at least three years of relevant work experience and a sound track record in successful grant research and proposal writing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English plus excellent interpersonal skills.
