Job Title: Laboratory Technician
The Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) is a
non-profit HIV Research program that was established in 2002 as a result of a
memorandum of understanding between University and the Henry M. Jackson founded
for Advancement of Military Medicine Inc.
Essential Duties
• Perform
monthly comparability sample testing between Kayunga districts Hospital
laboratory other MUWRP laboratories, and any other laboratories as may be
deemed necessary in order to ensure continuous proficiency.
• Maintain
all laboratory equipment validation, calibration, quality control documentation
and necessary routine /periodic preventive maintenance.
• Monitor
and track logistical requirements so that all laboratory supplies are on hand
at all times. Liaise with the Laboratory QA/QC field officer in order to
establish reliable and consistent reagent supply lines
Required Education
• A Diploma
in Medical Laboratory technology from a recognized institution with at least 2
years working experience in busy Diagnostic /research laboratory environment
• Evidence
of prior training in relevant techniques will be an added advantage.
