• Experience as a Dean is an added advantage;
• Must be ICT literate;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of Project Management is desirable;
• Knowledge of International Standards Organizations (ISO) is desirable.

Job Summary: The Partnership and Fundraising Manager leads the fundraising efforts on behalf of WWF UCO including planning, managing and ensuring the delivery of an agreed fundraising budget. Manages and implements a fundraising action plan covering PSP’s, foundations and corporate/major donors fundraising and communications to the extent of supporting the Country Director to satisfy current donor needs and maintain oversight of fundraising in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages all fundraising roles and dotted line responsibility for communications related to fundraising, grant management, reporting and M&E.
Sets personal objectives/action plans for Partnerships support/fundraising roles in relevant countries related to quality of M&E, number of donor reports completed and submitted on time, number of large proposals submitted and secured, income raised, number of donors, evidence of work across country offices.
Builds a culture across the office of pursuing the opportunities that offer the highest level of funding, a multi-year, GPF and prioritise those that offer the most unrestricted funds and the least reporting strictures.
Develops reports and systems so that fundraising income is analysed and reported on each year. Leads the development of a system/database that is able to profile donors and potential donors to enable fundraising.
Prioritizes, organizes and leads proposal development where appropriate for the highest opportunities especially national work.
Implements and monitors the Donor Care Plan, which will involve working across the Country to set up training for relevant colleagues in programs to improve donor reporting and management.
Works across the organization to ensure that fundraising is maximized (systematically working with WWF UCO and ESARPO at program and fundraising level).
Donor care and development:
Works with WWF UCO and directly with donors to understand gaps in donor care and opportunities to develop donors.
Works with program teams across WWF UCO on program/project development, monitoring and evaluation and developing proposal bids and reports for institutional and foundation donors.
Recruits support from ESARPO for training that will aid and improve donor care and developing new donors.
Works with WWF UCO team to research current and potential donor funding pots over the coming three years then match these against existing programs and strategies.
Works with communication teams to develop other donor materials such as case studies, annual reports, and updates and support teams to use these with donors.
Fundraising growth:
Oversees research/scoping work and analysis of previous donor income for all WWF UCO and looks into potential for decentralised funds from new donors.
Works out a realistic fundraising income budget for the next three years, which shows growth and where it will come from.
Creates detailed plans for pursuing specific funding pots nationally from key donors and assists WWF UCO fundraisers to produce national level plans.
Sets up system for WWF UCO management of major donors EU, NORAD, SIDA, UNDP and DFID. Understand giving across the nation and then work with donors, Country Director/Senior Management team to map opportunities for developing national partnerships.
Leads development of materials for fundraising with institutional and other donors.
Supports WWF UCO Country Director and Senior Management Team to fundraise better by preparing briefings, advice on funding opportunities and tailored approaches for individual donor meetings, events etc.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The candidate should possess an advanced university degree in an appropriate field (Conservation / Environment / Institutional Development, Business Management / Administration);
At least seven years institutional fundraising experience and strategic planning experience. Ideally the candidate would already possess key relationships with major donors such as the EU, UNDP, DFID, SIDA, NORAD, DANIDA.
Broad working experience and good knowledge of conservation and development issues in Uganda, in general, with at least five years of experience in the region.
Knowledge of the International Development and Donor community in Uganda, as well as of relevant policy issues;
Good writing and presentation skills, ability to develop and co-ordinate fundraising efforts and to work effectively with a wide variety of partners and disciplines.
Diplomatic and multi-cultural skills, especially in the African context.
Proven leadership and team management skills;
Skilled in negotiation, liaison, and in relationship and conflict management;
Strong skills in proposal writing and experience working with donors;
Strong organisational and analytical skills;
Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, government agencies, the not-for-profit sector, the scientific community, the business community, and the WWF Network;

Job Summary: The Partnership and Fundraising Manager leads the fundraising efforts on behalf of WWF UCO including planning, managing and ensuring the delivery of an agreed fundraising budget. Manages and implements a fundraising action plan covering PSP’s, foundations and corporate/major donors fundraising and communications to the extent of supporting the Country Director to satisfy current donor needs and maintain oversight of fundraising in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages all fundraising roles and dotted line responsibility for communications related to fundraising, grant management, reporting and M&E.
Sets personal objectives/action plans for Partnerships support/fundraising roles in relevant countries related to quality of M&E, number of donor reports completed and submitted on time, number of large proposals submitted and secured, income raised, number of donors, evidence of work across country offices.
Builds a culture across the office of pursuing the opportunities that offer the highest level of funding, a multi-year, GPF and prioritise those that offer the most unrestricted funds and the least reporting strictures.
Develops reports and systems so that fundraising income is analysed and reported on each year. Leads the development of a system/database that is able to profile donors and potential donors to enable fundraising.
Prioritizes, organizes and leads proposal development where appropriate for the highest opportunities especially national work.
Implements and monitors the Donor Care Plan, which will involve working across the Country to set up training for relevant colleagues in programs to improve donor reporting and management.
Works across the organization to ensure that fundraising is maximized (systematically working with WWF UCO and ESARPO at program and fundraising level).
Donor care and development:
Works with WWF UCO and directly with donors to understand gaps in donor care and opportunities to develop donors.
Works with program teams across WWF UCO on program/project development, monitoring and evaluation and developing proposal bids and reports for institutional and foundation donors.
Recruits support from ESARPO for training that will aid and improve donor care and developing new donors.
Works with WWF UCO team to research current and potential donor funding pots over the coming three years then match these against existing programs and strategies.
Works with communication teams to develop other donor materials such as case studies, annual reports, and updates and support teams to use these with donors.
Fundraising growth:
Oversees research/scoping work and analysis of previous donor income for all WWF UCO and looks into potential for decentralised funds from new donors.
Works out a realistic fundraising income budget for the next three years, which shows growth and where it will come from.
Creates detailed plans for pursuing specific funding pots nationally from key donors and assists WWF UCO fundraisers to produce national level plans.
Sets up system for WWF UCO management of major donors EU, NORAD, SIDA, UNDP and DFID. Understand giving across the nation and then work with donors, Country Director/Senior Management team to map opportunities for developing national partnerships.
Leads development of materials for fundraising with institutional and other donors.
Supports WWF UCO Country Director and Senior Management Team to fundraise better by preparing briefings, advice on funding opportunities and tailored approaches for individual donor meetings, events etc.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The candidate should possess an advanced university degree in an appropriate field (Conservation / Environment / Institutional Development, Business Management / Administration);
At least seven years institutional fundraising experience and strategic planning experience. Ideally the candidate would already possess key relationships with major donors such as the EU, UNDP, DFID, SIDA, NORAD, DANIDA.
Broad working experience and good knowledge of conservation and development issues in Uganda, in general, with at least five years of experience in the region.
Knowledge of the International Development and Donor community in Uganda, as well as of relevant policy issues;
Good writing and presentation skills, ability to develop and co-ordinate fundraising efforts and to work effectively with a wide variety of partners and disciplines.
Diplomatic and multi-cultural skills, especially in the African context.
Proven leadership and team management skills;
Skilled in negotiation, liaison, and in relationship and conflict management;
Strong skills in proposal writing and experience working with donors;
Strong organisational and analytical skills;
Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, government agencies, the not-for-profit sector, the scientific community, the business community, and the WWF Network;
Adaptable, flexible, able to take initiative and prioritize among competing demands;
