She/he will be responsible for consolidating farmer organizations and scaling up the formation of more producer organizations in Uganda,

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of SG2000 Country Director with technical backstopping from Sasakawa Africa Fund for Education Program Coordinator, the core role of the PO will be to:

Strengthen the capacity of FBOs in organizational management and leadership
Engage FBOs in developing viable agro-based businesses;
Develop organizational training modules
Develop commodity training modules
Develop commodity business plans
Develop leaflets, flyers, posters

Requirement:

B.Sc in Agricultural Extension, Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Cooperative Management or related fields and at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in farmers organizations and management.
Very good oral, analytical, writing and presentational skills; Computer literacy is a MUST.
Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder working environments.
A Masters Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.

This position reports to the Sub-Regional Project Coordinator and the successful candidate will be a member of the Sub-Region-based technical team and will specifically be responsible for coordinating planning, implementation and monitoring of comprehensive HIV health services at sub-regional level. Dimensions of Role:

Key End Results of Position:
Participate in designing, implementation and monitoring of comprehensive HIV/AIDS services so as to contribute to achievement of project targets.
Provides technical support to the district health teams and CSO partners during annual work-plan development,especially in regard to TB and HIV prevention, care, treatment
Represent NU-HITES project in the TB and HIV technical working groups in the project supported districts.
Contributes to NU-HITES periodic reports by coordinating and consolidatingdistrict reports on TB and HIV prevention, care, treatment service programs according to defined reporting schedules
Coordinates regular technical support, mentorship and supervision for implementing districts to ensure quality and efficient implementation of HIV/TB prevention, care, treatment services.
Participates in periodic technical review and planning meetings with project stakeholders, especially in regard to TB and HIV prevention, care, and treatment service.
Identify and document best practices in TB and HIV prevention (including PMTCT), care and treatment.

Qualifications /Skills/Experience:
A Medical Doctor. A MPH or Masters degree in other clinical disciplines is added advantage.
Additional training in TB/HIV prevention, care and treatment
At least 5 years of professional experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention, care & treatment programs in public and/or private sector.
Practical experience in working with district and community health systems including Village Health Teams (VHT) and HIV/AIDS peer support networks.
Experience in HIV capacity building for health facility and community health delivery teams.
Willingness to work in Northern Uganda and travel 60% of the time in field.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office programs including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point.

The incumbent will provide technical support towards achieving improved availability of essential medicines and other health commodities in population in Northern Uganda. It is a full-time position based in the sub-regional offices of Gulu for a five-year term, with frequent travel to districts in the Northern Region of Uganda.
Dimensions of Role:
The Logistics Coordinator for the NU-HITES program reports to the Sub-Regional Project Coordinator. She/ He works closely with other project staff and the logistics teams of in the districts, Medical Stores and Ministry of Health to provide continued technical assistance in ensuring efficiency in management of pharmaceutical commodities. This technical assistance is especially aimed at maintaining the current logistics management information systems and reporting requirements, data quality and completeness and supply chain effectiveness for the NU-HITES program and the general health programs in the district. The Logistics Coordinator will also work closely with the Supply Chain Specialist at the central project and the M&E team to transition the district logistics management information into integrated National pharmaceutical management and LMIS systems when they are developed.
Key End Results and typical Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to District health offices in pharmaceutical management to ensure effective and efficient quantification, forecasts and management of health commodities.
2. Provide technical assistance to district logistics teams to ensure that vertical programs’ commodity pipelines are analyzed and monitored at all levels of the supply system.
3. Build capacity of pharmacy staff and data managers in health facilities and at district health offices to accurately enter data.
4. In collaboration with other USAID partners, build capacity of district and health facility logistics teams to effectively monitor stocks and accurate and timely reporting for commodity utilization.
5. Conduct periodic quality audits for logistics teams and data managers at health facilities and district health offices to ensure that there is, standardization, timeliness, completeness and accuracy for data entry and order generation follows recommended criteria for ARVs, TB drugs, Malaria drugs, Laboratory supplies and Reproductive Health commodities.
6. Provide Technical assistance to district health offices and health facilities in item selection, management of regimen switch systems, preparation, program pipeline monitoring and monitoring of the Supply Chain Management plans.
7. Work with the Supply Chain Specialist and the M&E teams to transition the vertical supply and reporting systems into integrated National pharmaceutical management and LMIS systems.
8. Prepare periodical performance reports as required by the program and the Ministry of Health and support the NU-HITES M&E component
9. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as need arises.

The position contributes to this goal by providing administrative and logistical support to the Chief of Party (COP) of Northern Uganda – Health Integration to Enhance Services NU-HITES Project. The incumbent works with senior management to align office priorities to achieve corporate project objectives.
Reporting:
Reports directly to COP.
Dimensions of Role:
The Executive Assistant communicates with external partners and institutions who request meetings with the COP and also serves as a liaison with external institutions to arrange meetings. She organizes his travel schedule, prepares important communication and works closely with NU-HITES Communications and Knowledge Sharing Manager.
Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position:
Provide support with travel arrangements.
Arrange all external and internal meetings as per COP’s direction.
Make appointments for visitors to meet with a COP and other senior management members and make appointments for Project staff to meet with project partners and development agencies that work/fund NU-HITES.
Develop and maintain an efficient records management system for NU-HITESdocumentation (correspondence, reports, newsletters, records, data, information etc).
Pro-actively co-ordinate and maintain a record of all incoming / outgoing correspondences (mail, email, parcels, etc) and send reminders of deadlines to COP &senior management members for timely response.
Responsible for organizing high profile visits for the project.
Ensure that adequate and effective administrative and logistical support is given to the NU-HITESsenior management.
Prepare minutes during senior management meetings and submit them for approval.
Work with Operations Team to ensure that all international workshops organized by NU-HITES are handled efficiently and effectively and proper hospitality is shown to all visitors.
Maintain contact with the COP while traveling to ensure that appropriate action is taken on pending issues.
Maintain an up-to-date Country Calendar for all important NU-HITES deadlines and important upcoming events.

COP– seek guidance and direction
NU-HITES Senior Project Management in Gulu - work closely with them respectively concerning day to day project activities.
TeamCountry Management Team in Kampala – work closely with the team and respond to inquiries in a prompt manner.
Operations and Finance Team – coordinate with them regarding COP’s travel
Insurance company – process travel insurance
Travel companies – arrange international travel
External Calls for COP
Qualifications /Skills/Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in Office Management, Administration or relevant field
At least 4 years’ progressive experience as an executive assistant to top managers and training in customer care.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication skills in English (written, verbal, listening, and presentation)
Ability to manage basic accounting assignments
