Job Summary: The Programme Officer must ensure that the project partners of the assigned part of the partner and programme portfolio deliver effective and efficient services to vulnerable children, in line with TdH Netherlands (TdH) strategy, policies and procedures.

 Responsibilities:
Contribution to the development and implementation of country/ thematic annual and strategic plans
In charge of the analysis of project proposals and project partners - context analysis, budgets, etc.
Technically advise whether or not to give the proposal further consideration and discuss the analysis with the Country Manager in preparation for final decision making.
Prepare the necessary documentation for approval of new and on-going partnerships and project proposals according to the TdH guidelines and formats.
Technically support and monitor the programmes and project partners through regular communications and programme visits.

Qualifications,
The ideal candidate should possess a good bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences or related field.

 Skills and Experience:
A minimum of three years’ experience in child protection work, related counselling experience, and community work.
Extensive knowledge of the Southern Sudanese languages (Arabic, Nuer, Acholi) and ability to work with people of different background is an added advantage.

Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono. International partnerships were part of the College’s missionary history. The Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and others to assure the College had the necessary intellectual and other capital.
