NUWODU is the National Union of Women with Disabilities of Uganda which was formed in November 1999. It is an indigenous umbrella organisation of national and district based organisations of women with disabilities that bring together all categories of women with disability in Uganda. NUWODU’s vision is to have a society where girls and women with disabilities live dignified lives. The mission is to promote social, cultural, economic and political advancement of girls and women with disabilities through advocacy for their effective participation in development.
Key Roles
The Executive Secretary (ES) is responsible for strategic leadership, the further growth and development and the effective operations of the Organization.
The Executive Secretary provides leadership on policy matters and strategy development, resource mobilization, partnership development and advocates on key disability and Gender issues at national and international levels with NUWODU stakeholders including staff management and development in line with NUWODU mandate.
The Executive Secretary is also responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of organizational policies, procedures and systems.

The candidates will work closely with the Ugandan artisans and Quality Control team to develop and meet the monthly production requirements in the most efficient and successful way. Furthermore, candidates will manage all Uganda based finances. Candidates will report to the Founder, but will have much authority in communicating what needs to take place in order for our production facility to operate at its finest. The current vacancy is supported by VMM working with its partner the Kiyinda Mityana Diocese (KMD) and will be based in the Diocese in Uganda. The KMD has 25 parishes serving a population of approximately 3.5 million people.
Major Roles:
Offer technical assistance and capacity building in setting up and operating a monitoring and evaluation system for development programmes and projects in KMD.
Assist program and sector-specific managers to develop systematic and realistic monitoring plans that capture quantitative and qualitative data to report on all indicators in proposals while feeding into Social Services and Development (SSD) and program / project indicators.
Design, develop, manage and train staff in databases and information systems for the department.
Conduct field based monitoring & evaluation and make recommendations, particularly mobilize resources to meet gaps in development projects and programmes.
