Competencies

Job Purpose:

Key Result Areas:

-Honors degree in Statistics, Economics, Planning , Business Administration, Social Sciences, Agricultural Economics or in any other related field.
-Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Planning, Social Sciences, and Agricultural Economics or in any other related field.
-Post graduate qualification in Project planning or monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in planning, monitoring, strategy development.

Job Description:
The Kampala Regional Office is looking for a dynamic, motivated and practical Regional Communications Officer for the region who can ensure ICCO’s visibility, promote the organization and its programs within the region, and provide support of our Global Office (GO) promoting ICCO in The Netherlands as well as raising awareness about social, political and economical context of the programs. The Regional Communications Officer (RCO) will be based at the ICCO Kampala office, with regular traveling within the region.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
• Make, collect and select quality information, adjusting it to the goals and tune it into suitable communication material for the target group and ensure increased visibility in the region;
• Coordinate the development, production and publication of communication material, including text writing and editing and responsibility for the photographs;
• Update regional communication and marketing strategy;
• Advice and support colleagues with the correct implementation of communication instruments;
• Signal and determine chances and possibilities for promotion of ICCO within the region;
• Deliver quality information and communication material serving public support activities by the GO (including fundraising), targeting general public, congregations, private funds, equity funds and other (institutional) target groups;
• Communication trainings for partners (build capacity and improve communication skills);
• Use creative ways to implement a social media policy;
• Set up a media press strategy.
Requirements:
•At least 5 years of relevant working experience;
•Knowledge of communication, marketing or journalism or related field at bachelor’s level;
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and adequate knowledge of French as a working language;
•Exceptional presentation, interpersonal skills and networking skills;
