Job Summary: The Project Manager will ensure implementation of the clinical & diagnostics programme in Uganda in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Clinical and Diagnostics Programme Technical leadership at AMREF headquarters. He/she will also be required to take lead in the design, monitoring and evaluation, documentation of key findings, partnership formation and advocacy aspects of the project including specialist outreach services, reconstructive surgery, safe motherhood and urology projects, community-based disease surveillance and the laboratory external quality assessment scheme. The Project manager will manage project staff  to help him/her achieve the following job objectives.

Key Duties
Represent AMREF in key forums to ensure the AMREF clinical and Diagnostics Programme plays a major role in strengthening Uganda’s health system
Manage partnerships and network with relevant stakeholders i.e. MoH, regional and district authorities and the technical leadership at headquarters.
Periodically coordinate with MOH and development partners to promote access to specialised medical services in hard-to-reach areas.

The mandate of aBi Trust is to support the private sector actors to increase their contribution to the agricultural sector by increasing land and labour productivity, and market competitiveness thereby contributing to poverty reduction through economic growth, wealth, and employment creation.

The aBi Trust strengthens competitiveness of the Agricultural and Agro-processing sectors through three (3) interrelated components: Value Chain Development (VCD) including trade-related Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary and Quality Management Systems (SPS/QMS), Financial Services Development (FSD) and a cross cutting Gender for Growth (G4G) Fund.

Job Summary: The Communications Officer will primarily be responsible for the development and implementation of the Agricultural Business Initiative Trust’s communications strategy and manage the Brand of the Trust in line with the strategic business objectives.

Key Duties
Develop and manage aBi Trust public relations programs to ensure that stakeholders and the general public are informed of the purpose, activities, limitations and achievements of the Trust;
Prepare regular (monthly and quarterly) and ad hoc performance reports for the Chief Executive Officer;
Gather, edit, and write content for and maintain the aBi Trust website and promote awareness of the site;
Prepare speeches for the Chief Executive Officer, the Board and other speakers for presentation at aBi and related occasions;

The Medical Research Council/ Uganda Virus Research Institute (MRC/UVRI) Uganda Research Unit on AIDS based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute, Entebbe invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans for the position of Senior Data Programmer.
The MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS is a bilateral multi-disciplinary research organisation funded by the Medical Research Council (UK), DFID (UK) and other donor organisations. The work will be based in Entebbe, and is funded by a grant from the IDEA consortium, an African-European Initiative for Dissecting the Interplay between Poverty Related Diseases and Helminth Infections. Appointment will be for one year initially and is renewable subject to the satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Job Summary: The Senior database programmer is required to work with databases primarily on studies within the Co-Infections Study Programme and will involve developing a Good Clinical Practice (GPC) compliant database for a new clinical trial and also developing data dictionaries for existing databases. The work will involve creating data dictionaries for existing databases and setting up a GCP compliant database for a forthcoming trial to investigate the effect of Schistosoma mansoni infection on the immunogenicity of a candidate TB vaccine. The successful applicant will join a team Statisticians and Data Managers at the MRC Unit in the Uganda Virus Research Institute.
