Job Summary:
The United Nations Department of Field Support, Information and Communications Technology Division (UN DFS-ICTD) is responsible for the delivery of applications that satisfy the requirements of the Departments of Peacekeeping Operations and Field Support (DPKO/DFS) missions as well as Special Political Missions (SPMs).

DFS has implemented a range of systems to address the principal requirements of peacekeeping operations and to support and enhance the processes DFS undertakes. The Information Systems Section delivers applications that satisfy the quantitative and qualitative requirements of peacekeeping missions, missions administered by the Department and United Nations operations worldwide. DFS wishes to establish a functional sub-group to provide technical coordination and project management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Interpret and translate ICT strategic directions, policy and standards requirements into the actionable software development plans.
Review project proposals, prioritize projects, develop work plan, assign resources and track progress to completion in alignment with organizational objectives.
Establish, drive, and meet service groups’ goals that are aligned with organizational objectives.
Provide leadership to ensure the service groups’ deliverables meet development, implementation, quality assurance and maintenance requirements.
Interface with DPKO/DFS clients and technical stakeholders locally and internationally to develop and communicate project deliverables
Plan and coordinate integration of standards, processes and tools into day-to-day ICT operational activities including software development life-cycle, change management, and technical monitoring.
Collaborate with counterparts in ICT Reporting and Business Intelligence Unit to support the development of Enterprise Reporting Platform.
Establish and maintain coding standards, best practices, code reviews and adherence to laid down standard operating procedures.

Job Summary: The broadcast presenter is the public face - or voice - of programmes broadcast on radio and the internet. Their role is always to entertain and inform their audiences by presenting information and/or entertainment in an accessible and attractive way. The nature of the job varies according to a programme's the general principles remain the same: a broadcast presenter will often introduce, host (or co-host) a programme, creating links between items, introducing and interviewing guests and interacting with the audience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Work activities vary according to the type of programme and broadcast medium. Prior to the broadcast, however, presenters may be involved in:
researching topics and background information for items to be featured on the programme;
Planning and rehearsing shows;
Writing, and sometimes memorising, scripts;
Liaising with other members of the production and technical team/s.
During the broadcast, presenters may be involved in: introducing and hosting programmes, interviewing guests in the studio, by telephone or on location;
playing music;
Reading short news, traffic, sport or weather reports;
Reviewing books, films, music or newspapers;
Providing links between programmes;
Either reading from a script and/or autocue, or improvising;
Keeping the programme running to schedule - responding positively and quickly to problems or changes, and improvising where necessary;
Keeping in contact with the director and production team in the studio gallery, via ear-piece link.
After the broadcast, presenters may be involved in meeting with the production crew to assess/review the broadcast and plan the next broadcast.
Radio presenters on music shows usually 'drive' the desk and operate some of the technical equipment for recording and playback. This generally involves using computers to cue up and play music and jingles.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Hands-on experience of presenting by working in community radio, or discos, an undergraduate degree or a post-graduate Diploma in Radio or Media Production.
Talent development schemes run by some larger broadcasters to identify potential presenters.
Any specialist knowledge or celebrity profile - acquired from working on newspapers and magazines, or in the music business.
Excellent presentation and performance skills
ability to generate original ideas, and to think creatively about how to communicate them
An understanding of how to use the voice effectively for radio
ability to build credibility and rapport by communicating knowledgeably and engagingly with audiences
Determination and tenacity
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to draw information from people
