The population secretariat, which is mandated to carry out promotion, coordination, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of population programme and activities in Uganda, is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to fill the vacant positions. The positions are project based and located in Kampala but will require frequent traveling to different parts of the country during field work
Roles
• To manage and run a media liaison section that supports information exchange, networking and dissemination of population and development concerns among local, national and international media.
• To spearhead implementation of the organizations media advocacy and communication strategy
• To establish and promote media relations,provide media briefs for dissemination of population information
• To monitor media coverage and the impact on specific target audiences.
• Perform any other duties as and when directed by competent authority
Education
Degree in Media Studies,Journalism,Mass communication and Media fields
Editorial skills with some knowledge of population issues
Three years post qualification experience in the communications filed preferably in media house setting
Knowledge in social media will be an added advantage
Not above 35 years of age
