Job Summary:
The Business Analyst-Corporate Credit will mainly be maintaining the integrity of International Credit Advisor (CCRS) by ensuring all databases in the country are updated and contain current and accurate information. This will be primarily done through the;
Production of management information for local and SBU purposes
Development of new management information
Interpretation, presentation and commentary on management information
Maintaining a diary of management information  requirements, and timely production of MI reports in line with these requirements



Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Review Data Integrity Reports on CCRS and ensure appropriate action is done to rectify errors
  • Review Management Reports on CCRS to ensure consistency on all databases
  • Collect, collate, and analyse all data required, and present the information in a format that is useful for management decision making
  • Maintain diary system to ensure that all MIS aspects of Corporate Credit are proactively managed and properly actioned
  • Produce all relevant reports accurately and on a timely basis
  • Support  in the design and improvement of spreadsheets and databases for use within the team
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The Business Analyst must possess good knowledge of the Barclays Bank’s systems and various
  • Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications
  • Prior statistical Training will be highly preferred
  • Some knowledge of statistical techniques
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Bank’s governance policies
  • Well developed planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills
  • Good inter-personal skills and an excellent team player
  • Effective planning and organisation skills

Specifically in Uganda, AKF currently supports programming in education, early childhood development (ECD) and strengthening civil society.

About Project:
AKF will commence a two-and-a-half year civil society strengthening project in West Nile, Uganda, in April 2014. The project aims to improve the status of girls’ education in the West Nile sub-region, through strengthened capacities of education-centric CSOs to mainstream gender in internal operations and education interventions. The project will be implemented in Arua, Koboko and Yumbe districts. These districts have been chosen in order to enhance the outcomes of AKF’s existing education and ECD programmes in West Nile, which aim to strengthen teacher education and support systems to improve and sustain learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy for boys and girls in primary and pre-primary school levels. To complement these education outcomes, advanced and intensive support will he provided via the strengthening civil society project to a broad range of education-centric CSOs to generate a critical mass of support for addressing the gender issues that impact girls’ education in West Nile.

Job Summary:
The SCS Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing AKF’s Strengthening Civil Society Programme in West Nile. This will include managing a programme team to deliver and achieve project targets in compliance with grant agreements, work plans and budgets; designing plans to meet programming needs; managing programme budgets; and coordinating monitoring and evaluation to track measurement of achievements towards project goals. The job holder will be responsible for leading external stakeholder management for the SCS Programme and leading coordination and integration with other AKF programmes in West Nile. The Coordinator will also be responsible for the documentation and dissemination of programme results and lessons-learned to inform policy and responsive programme design.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design plans to meet programming needs as per the approved programme implementation plan and budget.
  • Manage the implementation of all project activities, including sub-grants (as applicable), and ensure timely implementation and budget utilisation.
  • Broker and manage partnerships with project stakeholders, including partners CSOs.
  • Work in collaboration with the M&E team to ensure effective monitoring systems/ processes are in place for the project.
  • Responsible for financial grant management and ensuring compliance with donor and AKF regulations.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure AKF financial systems/ processes are adhered to in the project.
  • Manage project staff and, where necessary, recruit, orient, supervise and mentor staff.
  • Steer the project documentation and management of a project information system.
  • Coordinate with other Country Programme Managers to lead inter-programme planning, reviews and reflection on programme results.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The AKF Programme Coordinator should hold a bachelor’s degree (post graduate preferred) in social sciences, gender, international development or similar.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant sector experience with results-based management, grant management, financial management, project development and inception processes; and donor requirements and reporting processes.
  • Five or more years’ relevant experience in civil society strengthening with a similar organisation.
  • Prior experience in delivering civil society capacity development in gender mainstreaming, gender analysis and gender-centric planning.
  • Past experience and expertise of working with stakeholders (government, civil society, communities) at multiple levels and leading participatory development (at grassroots and institutional levels) is essential.
  • Possess the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines and produce results.
  • Possess a proven ability to lead and motivate a project team.

 The Loan Processing Officers will primarily vet all the bank’s loans to ensure they meet all KYC and Sanction Compliance standards as per Barclays Retail Lending products and policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.  Vetting of loan applications (60%)
    Review loan applications received on the same day. i.e minimal or no work in progress bearing in mind the controls in place
Ensure that all documents attached to a loan application are authentic and are safely bound together
Provide MI for your daily productivity to MI official
Demonstrate at least 10% increase in productivity on a monthly basis.
Ensure proper succession planning
Capturing and reporting possible frauds as may be detected from time to time to local money laundering reporting officer.
Attend departmental meetings

2. Control (30%)
Ensure KYC and sanctions compliance on all loans to be processed onto Barclays Systems.
Conduct snap checks as assigned by the team leader.
Make certain that KYC and sanctions compliance on all loans to be processed on Barclays systems.
Ensure comprehensive tele-verification checks are done as per guidelines.
Ensure all loan applications to be processed have been FRAUD screened.
Ensure ownership of your action on a given loan application by appending signature
Maintain 100% accuracy levels.

3. Customer service (5%)
Quickly respond to queries relating to the loan vetting process from various stake holders with the set timelines.
Adhere to timelines within the service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure efficiency and quick turn around time (TAT) in loan processing.
Treat customers fairly and cordially

4. Contribution to the team (5%)
Share best practice and any red flags that are a result of the assessment process.
Support other sections of C.O.U whenever called upon
Team work is encouraged at all levels
Perform any other duties assigned by the center manager or team leader

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
