About Us:
Our client, a fastest growing international micro-finance with its head office in Kampala Uganda, seeks qualified and experienced people to urgently fill the above position.
Key Duties
Assist in preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
To prepare supporting schedules according for the financial statements
Actively facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies
Responsibilities:
Compile and prepare monthly account reconciliations / General Ledger reconciliation Render support in analyzing company expenses on a monthly/ weekly basis and report on variances and correcting discrepancies
Assist with financial and tax audits
Responsible for fixed assets management
Assist with preparing tax returns and annual reporting requirements
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Mentor and supervise Junior Staff
Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications,
The applicant should preferably hold a good Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
Professional accounting qualification i.e. CPA /ACCA
Skills and Experience:
Five or more years’ post qualification accounting/finance experience;
Past exposure and experience in the financial industry preferred
Highly detail oriented and organized in work
Possess the ability to meet assigned deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
