Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of defective components on light motor vehicles
Perform preventative maintenance based on predetermined service schedules.
Carry out fault finding and diagnostic test of engines, transmission and drive trains
Build and repair diesel engines
Attending to vehicle breakdowns
Maintain shop tools and equipment in good, safe and clean working order, and report deficiencies
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should possess a degree in Automotive Mechanical Engineering or related qualification
Must currently be employed as Light Motor Vehicle Mechanic with a minimum five years work experience
Possess prior work experience on Ford Ranger pick-up trucks
Excellent problem solving, diagnostic and fault finding skills.
The applicant should hold a valid local driver’s license
Basic knowledge of human resource management and supervision
