Job Summary:
The Barclays Business Advisor will primarily serve as the point of small business customer contact within a small business outlet and be responsible for a portfolio of Small Business customers comprising mostly Start-Ups and  non-borrowing Small Business customers.



 Responsibilities: 
1. Sales & Service:
Building relationships with existing customers in order to pro-actively anticipate and address future customer needs and identify sales opportunities.
Cross-sell appropriate customer needs related products face to face and introduce customers to appropriate product/segment specialists
The job holder will carry out customer servicing initiatives/requirements for face to face customers to pre-determined service standards
Works to achieve sales and service targets
Maintain statistics and monitor progress of target reporting and personal performance
The job will require servicing the needs of own portfolio of customers, initiating cross-selling opportunities, meeting the review requirements
Generate customer interest in products and services and open non-personal accounts
Act as initial point of contact for borrowing requests to be passed onto a member of management
Deal with general complaints from Small Business customers
2. Business Management:
Complete follow-up paperwork and undertake administration activities to ensure effective, efficient and compliant operation of the branch inc. updating customer records.
Partake in-branch marketing, special campaigns, promotions etc
Work in liaison with the Barclays Business Lending/Credit Scoring Team
Plan for campaigns/marketing initiatives of sales around current promotions or initiatives to meet Small Business objectives and targets
Support the Barclays Small Business Team business development activity
Responsible for ensuring adequate Customer feedback and ensuring the appreciation of the Barclays brand.
Achievement of the set personal sales objectives for Barclays.
Contribution to Small Business team goals over and above personal objectives
Analysing business volume and impact of referrals.
Feedback from other Network & Specialist colleagues in Barclays
Management & mitigation of operational risks, and compliance with all relevant policy.
Core of Barclays behaviours.
Achievement of personal goals agreed with assigned Line Manager at Barclays.

Qualifications,

  • The prospective Barclays employee needs to have operated in a customer facing role where service is paramount
  • Prior experience in a sales environment preferably in a banking environment.
  • Possess experience in a target driven role
  • Familiarity and awareness of the Barclays Banking products, tariffs and services and knowledge of bank systems relating to small businesses and personal customers
  • Sales standards in line with regulation
  • High personal awareness of Group Services e.g. Barclaycard, Credit Scoring Unit and Central Operations Processing
  • Detailed understanding of Risk Assessment Manual requirements and Small Business risk policy
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislation
  • High Commercial / business Awareness
  • Excellent Relationship building skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (effective questioning and active listening)
  • High personal Drive
  • Possess the ability to plan and organise
