Job Summary: The Sector Head – Consumers will technically support all business activities and initiatives that will further the achievements of the Equity Bank’s business objectives in the Consumer sector.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Routinely support the development of the strategy and planning of financial and business growth goals for the consumer credit sector
Execute agreed financial and business growth goals for the sector
Identify new product opportunities through local market intelligence
Identify business opportunities and support branches to convert them into meaningful business relationships
Follow through and/or resolve customer service issues, and ensure excellent service to the customers in his/her portfolio
Take lead and supervise a team of relationship managers and other staff in the sector
Work in liaison with the Branch Managers and Credit Managers to identify and monitor problem loans and possible delinquent facilities for further action, and to ensure a quality portfolio
Market and grow Equity bank's service capabilities and products, and enhance customer relationships outside of lending
Compile, prepare and maintain sector/portfolio monitoring reports, and other appropriate reports
The ideal candidate for the aforementioned banking job should hold a University business degree from a recognized University in related field
Skills and Experience:
Five or more years’ experience in banking, of which three years must have been in consumer/personal lending
Relevant post-graduate qualification and/or Professional Certification e.g. CPA/ACCA or courses in banking/credit will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication (Oral & Written presentation) and negotiation skills.
Good leadership and people management skills
Excellent analytical skills, ability to attend to detail
Strong problem-solving, decision-making and financial management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
