About CIP:
The International Potato Center (CIP) is a not-for-profit international agricultural research organization with a global mandate to conduct research on genetic resources of potatoes, sweet potato, and other Andean roots and tubers, crop genetic enhancement and improvement, integrated crop management and sustainable management of natural resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will lend a hand in the implementation and impact assessment of CIP project activities in the SSA in, among others:
Conducting monitoring and evaluation; designing and implementing household and market surveys;
The applicant will also be responsible for the entry, cleaning and analysis of large socioeconomic datasets; reviewing literature; and drafting scientific reports, conference papers, journal articles and policy briefs.



Qualifications,
The ideal candidate should hold a M.Sc. degree in economics, agricultural economics or applied economics with strong quantitative skills (i.e., mathematics, econometrics, and statistics), research methods;
Fluency in CS Pro, SPSS, and STATA; excellent teamwork, supervision, oral and writing skills; and ability to work in multicultural/multidisciplinary environments.

Skills and Experience:
A minimum of two years’ work experience in similar positions and experience in: value chain analysis; conducting monitoring and evaluation; designing household and market surveys; coordinating and supervising data collection under different socio-cultural environments; analysis of complex single and panel datasets in SPSS and/ or STATA); and preparation of scientific reports and papers (as evidenced by publications).
