Job Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will implement systems for monitoring and evaluation of all AAIU activities under the Food for Thought Project; document and share information and knowledge in line with Accountability Learning and Planning Systems (ALPS), National and LRP M&E frameworks and strategies.

Key Duties
Technically support the development and roll out of participatory baselines for local and national rights programmes in line with AAU M&E strategy
Support the LRPs to compile and update rights and entitlement registers.
Assist national and LRPs to review and update performance indicators
Mentor and train staff, partners and community intermediaries (community change makers) in participatory rights based M&E
Actively contribute to monitoring and implementation of the national and LRP M&E frameworks
Collect, validate and enter local and national data into the MIS/DHMIS and share aggregated information with different units



Technically support the IASL unit to update and regularly review the ALPS tracker records for compliance to ALPS and Hive requirements
Actively facilitate participatory review and reflection processes for LRPs and partners and document learnings, good practices and reports
Compile and send monthly and quarterly M&E reports for AAU aligned to the key change promises, country change promises and strategic objectives
Carry out routine field monitoring for projects at national and local rights programmes.

Qualifications,
The applicant should hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Project; Monitoring and Evaluation, Demography, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related discipline.
Possession of a Post-graduate qualification in Project Planning and Management or M&E will be highly advantageous.

Skills and Experience:
A minimum of two to three years’ relevant experience from a reputable organization
Skills and Knowledge of Human Rights Based Approach to Development
Detailed knowledge of Participatory methodologies and approaches
Skills in sustainable development
Monitoring and evaluation skills
Skills in Project Planning and Management
Good documentation, information management and reporting skills
Skills in data entry, analysis and reporting using varied data packages
Institutional capacity assessment and development skills
Budgeting and budgetary control skills
Resource mobilization and Contract management skills
Good knowledge of training and development of training methodologies
Skills in gender and power analysis
