Job InformationWe are an independent not-for-profit organization working on Making Agricultural Markets Work Better for Reduction of Poverty and Elimination of Hunger in the East Africa Community (EAC) Region + South Sudan.
We are committed to supporting the people of the EAC Region, to achieve market-based solutions to food and nutrition security. In particular, we support the transformation of food and nutrition security in the EAC Region away from high risk subsistence farming into lower risk trade-based systems.
To facilitate this, we are building the Trust to become a coordinating HUB for regional markets development programs providing regional solutions to local problems through structured trade in agricultural commodities/products.
We undertake two types of interlinked programmes:
a) “Thought Leadership”, through high level diagnostics and analysis to promote “regional thinking, approaches and actions” in the EAC with respect to elimination of hunger, food security and reduction of poverty.
b) Hands-on implementation of agricultural programmes and projects on behalf of, and/or in partnership with governments, international and regional organizations, and the private sector.
We are currently in an expansion phase and need to fill the following positions with qualified and experienced individuals with a passion for making agricultural markets work better at regional level.
