Nurture Africa (NA) (Formally A-Z Children’s Charity Uganda) Ref: S.5914/6521 currently) is a Non-Governmental Organisation operating in Wakiso and Mubende Districts. NA is committed to contribute towards the health and development of the most vulnerable children in its areas of operation through high quality education, health care, Children’s rights and Sustainable livelihood programs enabling them to become positive influences in Ugandan society. NA primarily targets HIV infected and affected orphans and vulnerable children and works with their families holistically in order for sustainable change to occur. Nurture Africa seeks to recruit a:-
Title: Sustainable Livelihood Assistant
Supervisor: Sustainable Livelihood Officer Job summary
This position is responsible for assisting in the mobilization, training, disbursement of loans and following up on loan repayment from clients. This position works closely with Community Banking Groups (CBGs) and also supports in project administrative responsibilities.
Roles and responsibilities:
Support Sustainable Livelihood Officer to efficiently manage the project workplan and budget.
Assist in training of all clients in business and loan management and the implication of defaulting
Participate in screening and assessing clients based on set criteria before loan disbursement
Participate in regular monitoring of loan recovery for individual clients Ensure clients are paying back according to the agreed upon terms
Take part in the management of exit strategy for clients in the 2nd loan cycle
Provide advice in reviewing and updating of appropriate policies for the project
Participate in loan committee meetings and ensure action plan is implemented as agreed upon in meetings
Ensure all relevant project documentation is up to date.
Requirement:
Minimum of diploma in Business Administration, Development Studies or any related field
A training in microfinance management is added advantage
Skills and experience
At least 2 years' experience in rural community development work Good communication and rural facilitation skills desired
Computer application skills including Ms Word and Ms Excel Knowledge of local language will be an added advantage
Motorcycle riding skills is a MUST
Experience: 2 Years
