District Planner (Principal Planner) - Zombo District Local Government



Job Title: District Planner (Principal Planner):
Ref: DSC/ZB/08/156/01/2013,
Salary scale U2, Age 28 years and above,
Vacancy 1 (one), Report to: Chief administrative officer

Main purpose: To develop comprehensive and integrated District Plans, monitor and evaluate their implementation

Duty and Responsibility:

• Formulating, developing, coordinating District development strategies, plans and budgets
• Preparing and disseminating performance standards and I indicators to District to users
• Providing technical support to Departments in preparation and production of District development plans
• Determining District investment priorities
• Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating performance of District Development plans, programmes and projects
• Maintaining District management information system
• Development and maintaining an up-to-date data bank
• Appraising National and District policy and
• Producing minutes of Technical Planning Committee
Person’s specification:

• An Honors Bachelors Degree in Economics, Statistics and Quantitative Economics from a recognized institution plus a minimum of Post Graduate qualification in planning and management from a recognized Institution
• Should have at least 6 years of working experience as a planner, 3 (three) of which should have been at senior level in public or reputable organization

Applicants should indicate the authority where they want to work and should address /forward their application to the Secretary District Service commission- Zombo to reach him not later than 24th April 2013.
The application forms are obtainable from the Public service commission office, situated on 2nd Floor, Farmers house, Kampala, the Ministry of Local Government headquarters and District Service Commission Offices.

Applications should bear the title and reference number for the post
Applicants should attach three sets of photocopies of their certificates and Testimonials and three recent certified passport size photographs

Those already in Government service should route their application through Heads of Department who should be informed of the closing date to avoid unnecessary delays.
Serving officers may submit an advance copy of the application directly to the secretary District Service commission Zombo to enable the Commission carry out the short listing. Those who had earlier on applied, need not to reapply.
