Assistant Record officer - Zombo District Local Government




Job Title: Assistant Record officer

Ref: No: DSC/ZB/02/156/01/2013, salary scale U5,Age 21-45 years , No. of vacancies 1(one),
Report to: Record Officer/Senior assistant record officer
Main purpose: To facilitate smooth flow and access to information through record management for action and decision making.

Duties and responsibility:

• Receiving, registering and classifying correspondences
• Filing classified information
• Routing correspondences to responsible officers for action
• Auditing records and registers to ensure proper data bank, and
• Scheduling disposal of unwanted records and information
Person’s specification:

• Advanced certificate in Education (A level) with a Diploma in Library and information science(DLIS) or a Diploma in Records and information management(DRIM) from a recognized institution

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the under mentioned vacancies with Zombo District Local Government and the urban councils.

Applicants should indicate the authority where they want to work and should address /forward their application to the Secretary District Service commission- Zombo to reach him not later than 24th April 2013.

The application forms are obtainable from the Public service commission office, situated on 2nd Floor, Farmers house, Kampala, the Ministry of Local Government headquarters and District Service Commission Offices
Applications should bear the title and reference number for the post
Applicants should attach three sets of photocopies of their certificates and Testimonials and three recent certified passport size photographs
Those already in Government service should route their application through Heads of Department who should be informed of the closing date to avoid unnecessary delays.
Serving officers may submit an advance copy of the application directly to the secretary District Service commission Zombo to enable the Commission carry out the short listing. Those who had earlier on applied, need not to reapply.
