About Busoga Trust:
The Busoga Trust, a UK based WASH NGO operating mainly in Uganda, is seeking to recruit a Data Manager to manage the organisation database, source monitoring and impact reporting. The Busoga Trust is a UK based water, sanitation and hygiene NGO operating primarily, but not exclusively, in Uganda. Started in 1982 it has constructed over 2000 water sources in East Africa, serving over 1,000,000 people.

Job Summary: The role of the Data Manager is to manage the data for all our sources, ensuring that it is up to date and allows the organisation to demonstrate impact effectively.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop the database for the whole organisation, including comprehensive details of all sources and their condition. Also integrate this data into the WaterAid Water Point Mapper.
Provide all the content for the website from Uganda: weekly updates on all village pages from all BT project areas including photos, videos, statistics, maps, etc.
Line manage OutRiders: Coordinate and supervise their activities, resources and data.
Put in place a maintenance programme for BT motorbikes, conducted by the OutRiders.
Responsible for the Water Point Mapper (WPM) spread sheet and online map.
Assist Project Area Managers in the following;
Delivery of project activities including field supervision.
Office administration.


Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Project management skills and the capacity to manage time and workload effectively to meet targets.
Good personal skills i.e. the ability to interact with people of various backgrounds with ease.
Able to absorb information quickly, understand it and then make decisions based upon it within a short timeframe.
Good working knowledge of IT; word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, blog platforms, etc. Some experience in video editing would be useful.
Driving license (4wd off road experience preferable)
Experience of working in a developing country is desirable but not essential.
Experience of communicating with parties in all levels of organisation in a manner most appropriate to the party concerned.
Experience of dealing with external stakeholders, including Government Officials.
Highly motivated individual, a “self-starter” able to manage their own time, coordinate staff and other parties and balance an extensive range of tasks
Excellent communication skills
Comfortable operating independently; entirely self-sufficient with the resourcefulness and confidence to resolve situations in isolation.
Strong planning and problem solving skills.
High frustration threshold and ability to cope with stress.
