Job Title: Program Officer International Justice Program
Avocats sans Frontieres-Uganda office is seeking to employ a Program Officer for its International Justice Program to start immediately .
General Functions
• Organize and oversee the technical and organizational aspects of the activities of the project , namely timely and effective project coordination and implementation .
• Participate in budget management , oversight and financial monitoring of the project .
• Participate in technical meetings concerning the projects , including those organized and presided over by the Head of Mission .
Qualifications
• In possession of a LLB in law; (a Masters in human rights law ,international criminal law or related area is preferred);
• At least 2-4 years of work experience (preferred with an NGO or similarly –situated institution ), preferably on issues related to human rights and/or international criminal justice
• At least two years of experience with project coordination & implementing multiple activities ;coordination with partiners
• Good project oversight & budget management skills
• Good legal writing and research skills (publications preferred )
• Experience with developing concept notes for project activities and project proposals
