Job Title: Membership and Board Liaison Officer
Organization: Uganda Land Alliance (ULA)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Executive Director
ULA:
Uganda Land Alliance is a consortium of International and National NGO’s and Individuals focusing on land, promotion of land rights and protecting the interests of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized through “Enhancing civic participation in land governance and resource management country wide.”
Key Roles
Manage all the ULA – Board relations.
Support the strengthening of the ULA Land rights Centres ability to develop and manage collaborations with district networks and Local Governments
Support the development of district land alliances; tapping into a rich network of ULA stakeholders.
Mentor staff in partner mapping, opportunity generation, relationship development and management.
Disseminate and model ULA and its partner relationship management strategy, align and coordinate efforts within the ULA membership, in addition to ULA personnel
Plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for Uganda Land Alliance.
Create organizational literature and other forms of communication with regards to ULA membership.
Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic.
Work with advertisers for timely and useable ad submissions.
Design and launch email marketing campaigns for ULA products and services.
Recommend, implement and maintain site design and operation on networking and membership.
Work with manager and business units to determine event budget and manage expenses to that budget.
Manage membership information.
Help to clarify the organization’s point of view to their main constituency.
Qualifications,
The applicant should hold a Bachelors degree in Communication, Business administration or Marketing. Post graduate training in public relations and diplomacy is an added advantage
Skills and Experience:
At least three (3) years experience in similar or related field;
Prior experience in a senior position in a reputable organization with responsibility for management and coordination, a good understanding of socio-economic empowerment and transformation programs and extensive knowledge of women’s Land rights, community empowerment, advocacy and, Human rights issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Knowledge in computer skills
