Job Summary: The Project Officer supports the department in successfully implementing its goals. He/she will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring one o several projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of one of several areas / projects within the department
Responsible for the budget of the projects under their scope
Support senior management in preparing strategic recommendations
Support senior management or National Department Manager in preparing regular repots according to DSW guidelines and procedures.

Represent DSW towards external stakeholders in areas of responsibility like being member of working groups, reference person for parliamentarians
Offer technical support and training to staff members and other partners.
Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors

The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Project Planning, Development Studies or related discipline.
Skills and Experience:
Fluency in English (oral and written) with at least 2 local languages from eastern Ugandan districts of Jinja, Kamuli, Busia and Tororo.
Excellent communication skills
Computer literacy skills
Three years working experience in a relevant field.
Experience in community mobilisation and implementing SBGV projects.
Good facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to manage social cultural dynamics
