TaptoPay Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., a publicly listed company in Hong Kong. TaptoPay provides Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Systems (or electronic ticketing system) for public transportation, such as for bus, rail, and ferry, using contactless smart cards. It also provides electronic payment solutions for non-transit transactions including those at roads, parking gates, fast food chains, convenience stores and vending machines. The system will be like the Oyster Card in London or Octopus Card in Hong Kong.
TaptoPay’s system aims to enhance the efficiency of transportation fare and other micro payment collection by expanding customer base, increasing transaction speed and reducing operation costs.
The TaptoPay business is growing very rapidly owing to state-of-art technologies employed and owing to the vast network of customers established by ACS. We are inviting high caliber candidates to join our new company in Uganda. The company (TaptoPay Uganda) operates and maintains the AFC system for bus operators in Uganda and provides the services of card issuance and card reloading (i.e. to load money in the cards) at customer service counters and buses. Passengers holding a card with value will pay for the bus fare using the card. There is a team of cashiers, technicians, accounting and security staff in the company. In the future, the AFC system will expand to other sectors, e.g. retail shops, and become a common electronic purse system in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure smooth daily operations of all the payment card service points at service counters and buses
Manage and supervise a team of ticket officers to ensure service quality
Report work progress to the General Manager in Kampala on a daily basis
Provide support to customers
The Operations Manager must hold a University graduate degree in any discipline
Proven management skills with not less than 5 years of experience in managing more than 100 workers an advantage
Skills and Experience:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills with high level of integrity
Excellent spoken and written English
