Monitor Publications Limited, a Nation Media Group Company is Uganda’s most influential media house, operating The Daily Monitor and Sunday Monitor newspapers, 93.3KFM, 90.4 Dembe FM, Nation Couriers and the Monitor Business Directory.
Job Summary: The Commercial Manager – Radio will drive the advertising revenue and share of Radio in line with share holders demand through a well trained and highly motivated sales team
Take primary responsibility for the growth of all advertising revenue in the radio business
Promoting the services offered by the Radio to existing as well as potential clients,
Developing outbound communications that are geared towards enhancing the corporate image of the company among the advertising client base
The MPL Manager will be recruiting, training, motivating and evaluating the performance of the Radio Sales team
Also, perform duties related to the reduction of the debt burden together with finance and credit management.
Debtor days towards agreed days in all revenue streams.
In charge of generating and implementing client satisfaction, retention and acquisition programmes. Client satisfaction to be indicated by managing makes good level From xx to not more than xx% of revenues
In charge of the growth of the market share of the Sales revenues.
The best candidate should possess a good Bachelor of Commerce degree (Marketing) /Business related first degree
Skills and Experience:
A minimum of five years sales experience in a FMCG business preferably a multinational company.
Possess at least two years’ middle /senior sales management level
Past experience in a media related industry will be an added advantage
Possession of an MBA will be an added advantage
Possess the ability to develop and communicate a clear strategy
Good knowledge and understanding of Media market dynamics
Ability to forecast revenue trends
Ability to design business targets for self and team
Possess the ability to track performance on an hourly, daily, weekly and monthly basis
Critical thinking ability
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A good change agent
Possess the ability to motivate and inspire his team
Excellent conflict management skills
High financial literacy
High business acumen
