About UEDCL:
Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage Electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd investment, generation and distribution of thermal power in the districts of Moroto, Moyo, Adjumani and Kalangala, operation of the pole plant at Lugogo and execution of some rural electrification schemes and projects on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Job Summary: The Compliance Monitoring Officer will conduct monitoring and evaluation of UEDCL assets in the concession in accordance with requirements in the Lease and Assignment Agreement
Key Duties:
Carry out scheduled and unscheduled inspections and report on the state of the leased assets and others owned or introduced by UEDCL, hence assess compliance with the Lease and Assignment Agreement (LAA);
Work in liaison with Concessionaire to collect data on a continuous basis and assist in building and monitoring the asset inventory in the Distribution System in line with the asset management policy;
Perform system studies as and when required;
Offer support in building and monitoring the asset inventory in the Distribution System in line with the asset management policy;
Assist in compilation of monthly and annual reports on unit activities in accordance with UEDCL policies and procedures;
Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications,
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering;
Additional Postgraduate qualification in either of Monitoring and Evaluation, Asset Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be an added advantage;
Skills and Experience:
At least two years’ experience in the Electricity Sector;
Professional Certification in Power distribution software like ETAP, Powermaster and others will be an added advantage;
Excellent report writing and presentation skills are an added advantage;
Possession of a driving permit is a necessity;
