Job Summary: The Payroll and HR Information System Specialist for Centenary Bank will plan, develop, review and implement staff compensation, benefits payment system and HR Information management Strategies in line with Bank policy, HR Business plan, applicable laws and/or best practice.
Responsibilities:
Plan, monitor, review and implement payment of staff salary, benefits and statutory deductions in line with the Bank policy, HR business plan and in compliance with applicable laws.
Manage, monitor, review and implement staff incentives and bonus scheme payments in line with HR policy, scheme guidelines and applicable laws.
Review, consolidate and disseminate periodic management information reports in line with HR Division work plan.
Monitor the functionality of integrated HRIS and follow through user support requirements in line with HR strategy, business plan and SLA standards.
Develop, review and monitor implementation of HR Data Integrity and Information security strategies in line with records/information management guidelines, best practice and applicable law.
Oversee the performance and development of staff under direct supervision, in line with Human Resource Policy and procedures.
Qualifications,
The applicant should ideally possess an honour’s degree: B. Stat, Quantitative Econ, BBA or B.Com (accounting option), ICT or related degree qualifications with strong accounting background.
Possession of additional post graduate qualification in HRM and/or ICT will be an added advantage.
Skills and Experience:
At least four years’ practical experience and skills in payroll administration in a reputable medium size to large institution
Good grades in Mathematics at O and A levels are desirable.
Must be a self-directed, highly organized and mature person of very high integrity.
Excellent numerical skills with excellent computing and IT skills
Good knowledge and understanding of Uganda’s statutory laws relating to staff compensation/benefits schemes with thorough grasp of mandatory/statutory deductions computation.
Familiarity with integrated Human Resource Information Systems, including Payroll management system.
Familiarity with HR Analytics and other market practice reporting approaches/formats
Proven ability to deliver high quality management information reports within stipulated deadlines.
High capacity to multi-task and to efficiently prioritize assignments/tasks to meet deadlines
Keen attention to key details with strong drive for results.
Very good people skills with ability to operate independently in a highly structured and confidential work environment.
Highly adaptable and flexible with a continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent communication (verbal/written), teamwork, networking and problem solving skills
Possess the ability to build and maintain effective work relationships (network/collaborate effectively) with multiple stakeholder/partners.
Possess the ability to embrace the Bank’s mission and values.
