Business Development Manager - Britam

Job Title: Business Development Manager
Organization: Britam

Country Uganda
Reports to: Managing Director, British American Asset Managers Ltd with a dotted functional line to the Chief Executive Officer – Uganda;

Job Summary: The Job holder will be responsible for building company position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships in the Uganda market

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Locate and prospect business deals by contacting potential partners whilst discovering and exploring opportunities in the areas of institutional sales, property development, private equity and unit trust products
Identification of opportunities for property investment and partnerships
Identify and engage potential clients for the institutional, property development, private equity and unit trust product lines
Generate sales for the institutional, property development, private equity and unit trust product lines
Close new business deals in the identified areas by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
Develop and manage relationships with trustees and gate keepers
Prepare service offer tender documents




Conduct effective research to determine business viability
Development of deal pipeline for effective deal flow
Liaise with head office in Nairobi for effective support and turnaround timelines
Gather and share industry data to facilitate informed decision making.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree in a business related field. A post graduate degree will be an added advantage
Professional qualifications in finance or investment related area
At least 5 years in real estate, investment management, corporate finance, investment banking or stock broking
Working knowledge of the investment management and reporting systems
Knowledge of investments and financial markets in Uganda and rules governing the financial industry in Uganda
Familiarity with other disciplines related to business, such as finance, market research
Strong attention to detail
Good knowledge of best practice
Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Business to Business relationship management experience;
A demonstrated track record of sales.
