The Ankrah Foundation (TAF), Mukono, Uganda is in the process
of establishing a Private Degree Awarding Tertiary Institution, the
School of Health and Sciences (TASHS), to award the Degree of
Bachelor of Sciences in Clinical Medicine and Community Health.
The Ankrah Foundation is seeking the services of a Principal to lead
the institutional development phase and creation of an educational
programme that advances the clinical officers, and ultimately other
medical professionals to a higher level of practice.
Reports to the Board of Trustees of the Ankrah Foundation through
the Managing Director
Functions:
This is a senior position with the responsibility of heading a support/
service department that facilitate work of other business units of
multiple functions under the TAF umbrella.
Duties and responsibilities:-
The ideal candidate should be a strong leader and a manager with
a wide range of experience in complex organizations in which the
work of the support/ service department coordinates and facilitates
the other business units. The duties of the Director will consist of,
but not limited to, the following:- He/she
1. recommends policies and procedures regarding financial and
internal control issues;
2. reviews statements of accounting information and other
reports provided by other units;
3. initiates the planning and budgeting process in all business
units, and consolidates the resulting plans and budgets for
decision-making by TAF;
4. leads the different business units in monitoring and evaluation
activities;
5. ensures business units are well supported with ICT, financial
resources, communication facilities, infrastructural and
equipment needs;
6. oversees the procurement and disposal processes for TAF
assets;
7. plans and organizes the recruitment of staff;
8. participates in the disciplinary process for staff below the
directors
Requirement:
Requirement of the Director He/she must: a) possess as a minimum, a relevant degree from a recognized university and being in possession of post graduate training/ qualification an added advantage b) adherent to, or not opposed to, the Christian faith c) possess over 8 years’ experience of demonstrated leadership and management skills in a dynamic organization(s) d) must possess knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques e) have strong computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheet applications f) possess extensive knowledge in financial management g) Age: Not to exceed 50 years.

Remuneration
The position carries an attractive and competitive pay package with
allowances commensurate with experience and background. The
position is on contract
terms of two years with the possibility of extension to five years,
with one year as a probation.
