About UAC:
The Uganda AIDS Commission was established in 1992 by a Statute of Parliament, to coordinate and harmonize the national response to HIV/AIDS. The mission of Uganda AIDS Commission is to provide overall leadership in the coordination and management of an effective HIV/AIDS National Response.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical advice to guide the formulation of National and sector HIV/ AIDS response plans and information management strategies;
Coordinates the review and development of robust HIV I AIDS monitoring and Evaluation framework;
Coordinates the provision of technical support and guidance to sectors and local governments in the development, review and updating of planning and programmes for the HIV I AIDS response;
Coordinate the development and implementation of UAC’s ICT initiatives;
Act as a key liaison in the development of fiscal and other resource mobilization strategies for UAC plans and programmes;
Attends meetings, workshops and conferences to advocate and seek support for UAC;
Supervises and appraises performance of the staff of the Directorate;
Coordinates the preparation and presents work plans, budgets and performance reports of the Directorate;
Coordinates and guides the timely preparation and presentation of UAC work plans, budgets and performance reports.
Accounts for fiscal and other resources of the Directorate.
Key Performance Areas:
Technical support and guidance provided in the development of UAC strategic plan;
Robust HIV/AIDS monitoring and Evaluation framework developed;
Technical support and guidance provided to sectors, local governments and other partners in the development, review and updating of plans and programmes for the HIV I AIDS response;
UAC’s ICT strategy development;
UAC's resources mobilization strategies developed;
Draft National HIV/AIDS response plans, information management strategies developed and periodically reviewed,
Functional National AIDs Data Information centre (NADIC)
Qualifications,
The suitable applicant must hold an Honors Bachelors degree from a recognized University.
Hold a Masters Degree in Public Health or Health related course
Post graduate qualification in Planning, Management, Policy Development or Monitoring and Evaluation
Good knowledge and understanding of the national and international HIV/AIDS response will be an added advantage.
Skills and Experience
At least twelve (12) years working experience five (5) of which must have been served at Senior Management level in Government or equivalent I relevant level of experience in a reputable organization.
Sound knowledge of HIV/AIDS policies, plans and response strategies;
