Job Summary: The Project Manager will offer direction and management of The Union’s SPARK-TBplus Project, in Uganda, as well as ensure the smooth and efficient running of the technical, administrative and financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Offer overall project management and direction on strategy implementation of project goals, including the development of the annual operational plan, drafting internal and external project reports.
Offer final project financial oversight, including: analysis of budget, financial reports and provision of recommendations to The Union on project budget forecasts and expenditures.
Act as the key project liaison and spearhead collaborations with the Ministry of Health (MoH), District Health Offices, Divisional Health Offices and implementing partners.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to the District and Divisional Heath Officers and the Private Health Providers in the areas of TB control, TB/HIV and the Public-Private Mix (PPM) and conducts site visits as necessary.

About UCU:
Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono. International partnerships were part of the College’s missionary history. The Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and others to assure the College had the necessary intellectual and other capital. By the late 1990s, the Church of Uganda sought to have a broader impact on society through the higher education - not only of clergy but of other professionals as well. Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.
In 2004, the Government of Uganda granted a charter to Uganda Christian University – the highest level of national accreditation. UCU was the first private University to receive such a charter from the Government.
Job Summary: The Lecturer - Development Studies will primarily conduct research, teaching, mentoring, supervision and administration within the department, especially in the area of Development Studies.
Responsibilities:
Teach at undergraduate and graduate level in areas allocated by the Dean of Faculty.
Actively engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities.
Supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate and graduate (Masters) students.
Significantly contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.
Support the development of learning materials and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.

To complement these education outcomes, advanced and intensive support will he provided via the strengthening civil society project to a broad range of education-centric CSOs to generate a critical mass of support for addressing the gender issues that impact girls’ education in West Nile.
