Job Title: Project Manager

The TrypanoGEN project is a pan African scientific research consortium based at COVAB, Makerere University.
Main Duties
Conduct and administer regular meetings with network partners, including minute taking.
Co-ordinate the training goals of the network.
Organize the network annual meetings and workshops as appropriate.
Ensure network partners comply with safety and ethical procedures (in partnership with the ethics manager).
Prepare a regular newsletter for network partners, maintain the network website and answer inquiries to the network from the public and external bodies.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in any of the biological science related fields
Proven relevant project management experience, skills and knowledge
Post Graduate qualifications in project planning and management or public administration
Ability to communicate effectively to a high standard with a range of people and organization s both orally and in writing.
Highly developed problem solving and organizations skills, with an ability to meet competing deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
Added Advantage
Previous work (at least 2 years) in a similar position
Familiarity with Welcome Trust grant operations
Knowledge of genetics or biology or having a background in biomedical research.
Ability to speak and write in English and French
