Job Title: Project Manager
The TrypanoGEN project is a pan African scientific research consortium based at COVAB, Makerere University.
Main Duties
• Conduct and administer regular meetings with network partners, including minute taking.
• Co-ordinate the training goals of the network.
• Organize the network annual meetings and workshops as appropriate.
• Ensure network partners comply with safety and ethical procedures (in partnership with the ethics manager).
• Prepare a regular newsletter for network partners, maintain the network website and answer inquiries to the network from the public and external bodies.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in any of the biological science related fields
• Proven relevant project management experience, skills and knowledge
• Post Graduate qualifications in project planning and management or public administration
• Ability to communicate effectively to a high standard with a range of people and organization s both orally and in writing.
• Highly developed problem solving and organizations skills, with an ability to meet competing deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
Added Advantage
• Previous work (at least 2 years) in a similar position
• Familiarity with Welcome Trust grant operations
• Knowledge of genetics or biology or having a background in biomedical research.
• Ability to speak and write in English and French
