About LWF:
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Uganda Program is part of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF-DWS), an international humanitarian and development agency. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum, Rwamwanja, Koboko, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule. Following the massive influx of refugees into the west Nile districts of Adjumani, Koboko and Arua

Key Duties
Offer technical support to marginalized participants to develop confidence and skills to maximize their livelihood;
Provide support to participants to undertake personal development opportunities and provide intensive personal support individually and in group settings;
Work in liaison with other LWF work colleagues to ensure an empowering environment where participants are encouraged and supported to develop their existing skills, strengths and abilities and develop resilience;
Work with third sector organisations and service providers to increase awareness of the causes of poverty and develop appropriate responses to meet the needs of marginalized people;

Qualifications,
The Livelihood Project Officer should hold a good bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or social sciences
At least two years’ experience working in livelihoods or income generating projects preferably with an NGO in a refugee/IDP setting;



 Skills and Experience:
Good understanding of business and rural development issues;
Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work;
Possess the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks while working as part of a team,
Excellent planning and organizational skills coupled with problem solving capabilities,
Practical community mobilization skills,
Be a self-starter with ability to take initiative
