ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - PARLIAMENTARY PENSION SCHEME
Applications are invited from qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts under the Parliamentary Pension Scheme.
POST: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
SALARY SCALE: EQUIVALENT TO PC4 (PC SCALE)
NO. OF VACANCIES: 1 (ONE)
AGE LIMIT: 21 YEARS AND ABOVE
JOB STATUS: REPORTS TO: ONE (1) YEAR CONTRACT (RENEWABLE)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure prompt reconciliation of: pension contributions, bank, custodial and investment transactions.
Key responsibilities:
To undertake monthly reconciliation of contributions, and take corrective actions when necessary.
To monitor all investment transactions and reconcile Custodian and Fund Manager’s reports on a monthly basis.
To prepare payroll reconciliation.
To prepare bank reconciliation for all accounts.
To monitor remittances and income collections to the Scheme.
To maintain fixed assets register.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirement:
A minimum of an Honours Bachelor's Degree in either Finance or Accounting, or Commerce (Accounting Option), or Business Administration (Accounting option) with at least part II of a professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA (fundamentals), or CPA.
At least 2 (two) years working experience in a busy accounting environment.
Skills and abilities
Financial analytical skills and user knowledge of accounting Software.
Computerized record keeping.
Good Interpersonal Skills.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
