We are seeking to recruit experienced artisans for the following positions:
1. Mechanical Fitter/Fitter and Tuner
2. Boiler Maker
3. Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Plant Fitter
Job Function
- Maintain plant and equipment
- Take responsibility for the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
- Perform Periodic operational inspections/checks on plant and equipment and carry out necessary repairs
- Assist in the training of apprentices and other engineering personnel
- Take responsibility for the maintenance of a safe working environment
- Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained in the work place
- Promote occupational health safety and environmental programmes at the mine
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a 3 year diploma from a recognized institution in the relevant discipline or trade tested class 1 artisan
- A minimum of four years experience in a mining or heavy manufacturing environment
- Must be bilingual with good command of both spoken and written English
- Must have sound knowledge of boiler-making, plate welding, pipe fitting, coded welding and must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and carry out development work
- Prospective candidates must be physically fit and be able to perform work of a physical nature
