Job Purpose:
- Inspection and maintenance of electricity generating systems and distribution infrastructure that are installed within the boundaries of Nebbi District.
- To support GIZ-PREEEP activities related to grid densification and improved Solar PV.
- Field research (energy demand & technological assessments, identification of potential energy efficiency activities, energy demand side management)
- Strengthen the benefit of grid extension activities for the population of Nebbi District through advice and information to communities and enterprises.
- To facilitate trainings and workshops related to electrical topics and to support promotional activities (productive use for SMEs, pre-paid meters, electric safety related…)
- Contributing to the establishment of a District Energy Focal Point at Nebbi D.L.G
- Participation in the identification and planning of RE & EE projects
- Support to Monitoring and Evaluation
- To facilitate information exchange between districts and central planning authorities, particularly REA/MEMD.
- administering data and preparation of reports and information material
Required professional knowledge and experience
- Technician or Engineer with electrical background and experiences in Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency (RE&EE).
- Diploma or bachelor degree in RE&EE or other related disciplines.
- Good English oral and written (may be liable to a short test)
- Ideally experience in working with communities in rural areas in Nebbi District
- Be able to communicate in Alur language.
- Minimum 5 years professional work experience
- Good overview on RE&EE (may be liable to a short test) and functions of District Local Governments
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Openness to continuous learning
- Good attitude towards work and time-consciousness
- Good communication and planning skills
- Driving licenses A & B and ability to move independently are added advantages
