The U N World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations front-line agency against world Hunger  It is the largest and longest serving humanitarian agency in Uganda.

Job Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Head calf Sub Office, the incumbent will tie responsible for the management of financial matters of the sub office and will be required to undertake the following;

Duties and Responsibilities:

Extract and input data from various sources in financial or accounting systems;
Prepare bank reconciliations and conduct analysis of general ledger accounts;
Verify vendor claims for accuracy and conformance with WFP finance rules and regulations;
Verify payment claims against source documentation to  ensure that payments for purchases are properly authorized and that goods have been receded  and ensure timely recording and processing of t invoices;
Monitor vendor advances and ensure timely clearance of vend or outstanding items, taking corrective follow up actions where retired;




Prepare necessary receipt and journal vouchers;
Assist in the preparation  accounting , and financial reports, statistical reports required
Provide assistance to all staff services such as travel, expense claims, and document review.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting obtained from a recognized institution;
At least three (3) years of professional experience in Finance gained from a reputable organization;
Membership to a professional accounting) body;
 knowledge of finance systems, policies, rules, regulations and procedures;
Good knowledge of MS Office applications;
Excellent command of English is vital.
