Corporate Credit Director- Barclays Bank of Uganda Limited, Uganda



 Corporate Credit Director

Location: Barclays Bank Head Office
Job Purpose
To lead, drive the performance of and actively manage the team charged with the business of credit risk sanctioning with specific responsibilities for Barclays Corporate, Business Banking and SME portfolio customers.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Ensure as a Team Leader and sanctioner that the agreed asset quality of the Commercial portfolio is maintained, both with regard to risk decisions supporting origination, interim reviews, annual reviews and on-going monitoring and control.
Deliver a World-Class Credit service.
Credit representative on Management Committees.
Championing and managing change introduced as a result of the Corporate Change Programme and other initiatives/programmes impacting the Corporate Market.
The primary objective is to maximize sustainable risk-adjusted portfolio contribution on both an individual portfolio and aggregate team basis.
To manage the Groups relationship in Africa with around 5-10 large Corporate customers operating in Africa.
Lead the Large Corporate Managers and Corporate Support (CMAs) through a team based management approach.

Knowledge & Expertise:
Comprehensive technical credit skills.
General commercial/industry awareness.
Working knowledge of risk management policy, procedures & pricing.
Working knowledge of Group policies, pricing and strategies relative to the credit function.
Product knowledge
Detailed understanding / fit of the vision for Risk
Detailed understanding of the Bank's policies on Employment/Redeployment, Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety.
Working knowledge of local country structure and strategy.
Leadership and performance development of a team.
Workflow management
Proven track record in the successful delivery of risk management.
Experience and Qualification
ACIB or equivalent business experience, desirable.
