About BAU:
Build Africa Uganda is and International NGO that operates in Uganda whose primary aim is to improve the quality of life for the targeted communities in the areas where the organization works. This is largely achieved through making considerable improvements in the quality of education enjoyed by children while improving the ability of their families to secure sustainable livelihoods.

Job Summary:  The Head of Programmes will offer overall leadership in the implementation of Build Africa Uganda (BAU) Program Strategy. Additionally, the job-holder will be expected to develop and implement programme approaches  and project s in line with BAU’s programme strategies, improving programme quality, partnerships and accountability to funders in accordance with organisational and donor requirements.  The position will also offer technical assistance to Area Programme Managers and the entire programme team, direction, oversight, coordinating and supporting the design and management of new programme approaches and projects and ensuring a well implemented M&E framework. He/ She will also be a member of the senior management team hence playing a pivotal role in the overall management, leadership and direction of BAU.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The job holder should possess a master’s degree from a recognized University with at least eight years demonstrated experience in implementing development projects
Experience working with an international NGO; implementing education, livelihoods, HIV/AIDS and Gender programmes is an added advantage
Possess an excellent track record of developing and managing projects which create measurable cost-effective impact
Comfortable working in an environment that espouses thinking outside the box, constantly questioning the status quo and continually improving programmes
Good leadership skills demonstrating a supportive approach with an emphasis on developing all staff to their full capacity, and prepared to address poor performance
Experience of developing, maintaining and overseeing project design, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and KPIs
A person of high integrity that will model BAU’s core values
Ability to travel
Possess a high degree of integrity
