About Hofokam:
Hofokam is one of the largest microfinance institutions operating in western Uganda with a raise the average house hold income and of living of poor families in Uganda in order to growth, eventually contribute to national development.
Job Summary: The ICT Manager will give strategic leadership, management, support and operations in regards to ICT. He/she is supposed detailed monthly report to the General Manager on matters concerning Information management Systems (MIS) and performs other duties as assigned
Major Roles
1. ICT Strategic Leadership:
Develop and maintain ICT Strategy, related to policies and standards in alignment with the corporate strategies
Prepare, review and monitor the ICT Annual Budget and Operating Plan to ensure effective implementation of the ICT Strategy
Give leadership to the ICT team and advise Developments and Policy Issues
2. ICT Strategic Management:
Maintain an aggregated view of all significant ICT projects statuses and schedule for implementation support across the microfinance.
Work with ICT team to ensure Core MIS software, supportive hardware infrastructure and other applications are smoothly running.
Manage relationships with stakeholders in the ICT industry both internally and externally for Hofokam.
Manage the introduction, implementation and support of appropriate ICT within the best industry practices.
Initiate, execute and build end user capacity to ensure optimal and efficient use of resources.
3. ICT Operations and Support:
Deploy and maintain appropriate ICT infrastructure and connectivity solutions for secure, efficient flow of information, to facilitate decision making and operations.
Develop, document and implement, test and review Business Continuity processes.
Deploy and maintain appropriate security systems
Deploy appropriate business applications that support critical processes to facilitate the operations and decision making.
Using the installed MIS, the ICT Manager provides management with the necessary reporting system that translates the quantitative status of loan operations into reports, charts and graphs that can he used in the analysis of the financial and operational health of the organization.
Updates the clients' weekly loan statistics indicating the number of village banks, number of members, total loan releases, repayments, average loan size, etc.:
Ensures that the MIS computerized system produces reports on time and dissemination is done to appropriate stakeholders
In coordination with the Branch Management, he/she supports Staff and with the guidance from the General Manager and or Finance Controller, prepares reports required by the different stakeholders and other pertinent documents.
Packages Annual Reports for General Manager to present to the Board of Directors:
Determines report requirements of development partners and ensures the accurate and timely submission of them (in co-ordination with the Finance and field offices);
Qualifications,
The ICT manager should possess a degree in MIS/IT/Software Engineering/ Computer Science, At least three (3) years in a Managerial position.
Professional certification like Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and familiarity with Cobit 4.1/ 15027001/2 framework will he added advantage.
Skills and Experience:
Skills in written and spoken English;
Typing/encoding speed and accuracy of at least 40 words per minute and 90% accuracy;
Ability to work under pressure:
Attention to details;
Monitoring and evaluation skills;
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Technical report and minutes writing skills
Strong Analytical skills
