Chief Finance Officer - The Microfinance Support Centre Limited Uganda

Job Title: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Organisation: The Microfinance Support Centre Limited (MSC)
Duty Station:  MSC Head Office, Kampala, Uganda
Reports To: Executive Director

About MSC:
The Microfinance Support Centre Limited (MSC) is a linchpin of Government of Uganda
(GOU) micro credit programmes under the Rural Financial Services Strategy. MSC facilitates access to affordable, sustainable and convenient financial and Business Development services to active and productive Ugandans. MSC Ltd supports legally established entities engaged in the value chain namely; production, value addition and marketing enterprises.

Job Summary: The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will lead the finance function and be responsible for the overall management of financial resources and a custodian of securities of the company.

Key Roles
Standardised financial policies, processes and procedures for financial operational efficiency of the organisation.
Manage the process of financial planning and budgeting for the Company’s resources and prepare budget requisitions to government and development partners.
Keep the Company’s financial records, prepare real time periodic financial and accounts reports as directed and ensure compliance with the statutory and
Development Partner’s financial reporting requirements.
Establish internal controls and procedures for the organization to safeguard the company’s finances and assets.
Review the books of accounts and ensure that the financial management information system is established and applied at all levels of the Company.
Undertake periodic supervision to review and examine the financial books and accounts of the zonal offices to ensure that they are kept/maintained in line with standard accounting practices and that credit policies, rules and procedures are complied with at all levels;
To manage performance of employees that directly report to him/her.
Produce timely annual final accounts and periodic management accounts as required by Management and Board of Directors.
Perform any other suites as duly assigned.




Qualifications,
The applicant should hold a bachelors and Masters degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting option) or its equivalent from a recognized University.
Full professional accounting qualifications in CPA, ACCA, or CIMA are must.

Skills & Experience:
At least 8 years’ working experience in managing/administering accounts of an organization, of which 5 years must have been at senior level in the financial services sector.
The applicant must also be computer literate with good command of accounting packages and spreadsheet.

Excellent knowledge and awareness of the Microfinance industry or background experience in a finance institution.
Age: Between 35  -45 years.
