Job Information
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fi ll the following vacant posts in Iganga District Local Government. Interested persons should obtain application forms PSC Form 3 (Revised 2008) in triplicate from the Secretaries of District Service Commissions. Serving OffiCers should route their applications through their heads of department. Handwritten applications are also accepted.

Only photocopies of academic qualifications should be certified. CVs and any other relevant documents, as well as recent passport size photographs should be attached to each form. Closing date will be 4 weeks from date of advert.

SALARY SCALE: U2

REPORTS TO: CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

RESPONSIBLE FOR: SENIOR PLANNER POPULATION

OFFICER STATISTICIAN

Job Purpose:

To develop comprehensive and integrated District Plans, monitor and evaluate their implementation.

Key Outputs:

i. District development strategies, plans and budgets formulated, developed and coordinated;

ii. Performance standards and indicators for the district prepared and disseminated to users;

iii. Technical support provided to Departments in preparation and production of District Development Plans;

iv. Investment priorities in the District determined;

v. Performance of District Development Plans programmes and projects coordinated, monitored and evaluated.

vi. District Management Information System maintained;

vii. An up-to-date bank developed and maintained;

viii. National and district policy appraised; and

ix. Minutes of Technical Planning Committee produced.

Person Specifications:

(i) Qualifications:

An Honors Bachelors Degree in Economics, Statistics and Quantitative Economics from a recognized Institution plus a minimum of a Post graduate qualification in Planning and management from a recognized institution.

(ii) Experience:
Should have at least six (6) years of working experience as a Planner three of which should have been at Senior Level in public or reputable organization.
