PRINCIPAL MAGISTRATE GRADE 1
Mission
To establish and maintain independent and efficient machinery for administering justice for all in Uganda, through recruiting, training and disciplining judicial officers and promotion of public awareness and access to justice

Duties and Responsibilities
- Adjudicates Civil and Criminal cases under his/her jurisdiction
- Writes and delivers judgments
- Supervises staff directly under him/her
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisors
Qualifications and experience:
Should have worked in the courts of judicature for 3 years
as a senior magistrate or 6 years as a magistrate Grade one
Applications should be submitted, in triplicate, to either
JSC or PSF 3 and submitted to the
Secretary, judicial service commission, farmers house, P.O Box 7679 , Kampala
Note applications should bear the title of the post applied
for as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an LLB degree from a
recognized university/institution plus a post graduate diploma in legal
practice from the law development center, Kampala
Uganda
or its equivalent. Any relevant advanced/post graduate qualification(s) will be
of added advantage

a copy of the latest written declaration form of income, Assets and liabilities
to the inspectorate of Government, IGG (where applicable)
