Job Title: General Ledger Accountant

Job Summary: The General accountant will be responsible for the GL accounts and financial statements of the Company.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for DD&A booking, common cost allocation and monthly operating cost accrual.
Preparation and design of financial/managerial reports for presentation to Management.
Responsible for regular and ad hoc analysis.
Closing of the General Ledger for Month-end, Quarter-end and Year-end financials.
Preparation of Quarterly Balance sheets and P & L Fluctuation Analysis.
Calculation and analysis of the monthly expense variance analysis.
Consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting.
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and compliance to internal policies.
Maintain Master Data needed as SAP.




Do balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
Interface with management in various Departments, at both operational and technical level.
Enhance the efficiency of accounting work flow
Other duties assigned by the Line Manager

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree or above in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
ACCA or CPA Certification.
At least three years related working experience in a successful Multi-National Company.
Extensive knowledge of both Uganda and International laws on Economics, Commerce and Financial Accounting.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
Extensive knowledge of the SAP Software.
Clear understanding of oil Exploration & Production
