Context/Scope:
EABL operates within a multi cultural, multi-national, multi currency environment. EABL comprises five business units: KBL, EAML, CGI, SBL and UBL. UBL is further categorised into Demand and Supply. The Supply business is involved in production of beer and spirits. The Demand business is involved in marketing and pushing the product to consumers.
The Innovation Department is seen as the key driver in providing aggressive top-line growth and increasing bottom-line results. The overall goal of innovation is to assist EABL’s growth into new markets, improve quality, extend EABL’s product range, improve production processes and make cost savings.
Market Complexity:
A high degree of ambiguity, improvement and originality is expected from this role to create possibilities as well as finding solutions are critical capabilities.
Job Summary: The Marketing Innovations Manager has ultimate responsibility for the marketing of core portfolio of brands. He / She will also support the development and execution of the company's strategic innovation program for East Africa (Key Pillar for Growth) in order to achieve our mission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in formulating and developing the overall beer, beer format and CSD
Innovation Strategy and Pipeline to achieve long term objectives.
Support the creation of a centre of project management excellence
Identifying new trademarks and ensures the company registers them.
Aggressively identify export innovations and adaptations to ensure market entry and sales growth.
Formulate and ensure implementation of market research programme to assess innovations and future opportunities.
In conjunction with Brand teams and Supply develop a strategy for culling brands/SKU’s that are uneconomical to the company.
Work pro-actively and effectively in partnership with the Sales functions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The prospective applicant should be a Graduate with senior management experience of at least three 3 years in Sales/ Marketing /Innovation or New Business Development at a FMCG company.
Experience in a market other than home environment
Post Graduate qualification an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years marketing experience in a FMCG environment.
2 years people management experience.
Experienced in Marketing management as well as development and execution of advertising strategies.
Experience in price and margin management.
